Introduction |
Action By |
| The meeting started with an introduction to the members. Chin Kok gave a short presentation of the NUS IPv6 project plan to the meeting. The project plan consists of two phases – the first phase involves the deployment of an IPv6 exchange point within NUS and in the second phase, various IPv6 services will be set up within the NUS IPv6 network. |

Project Discussion |
|
| The meeting discussed about the issues to connect to the proposed Singapore IPv6 Exchange Point (SIX) in NUS. The motivation is that connected sites at the SIX can obtain native IPv6 connection to SingAREN (and to the IPv6 Internet). Currently ICR and SoC each connect to SingAREN via a 6over4 tunnel. In specific, Dr Winston and Dr Liou inquired on the overhead required to connect ICR to SingAREN. Roland explained that this connection can be done through the re-patching of the fiber within the NUS campus to the router in ICR. A/P Ananda was concerned with the migration of the existing CiR-to-SingAREN 6over4 tunnel to a native connection at SIX. Roland assured him that this could be done by patching the fiber connection from SoC to the NUS network and to SingAREN. |

Connection to Hall of Residence & the wireless LAN |
|
| Dr Winston proposed to connect one of the hall of residence & the wireless LAN network to the proposed NUS IPv6 infrastructure. Roland explained that this would require an IPv6 router which may not be feasible solution at the time being. Winston agreed to KIV the plan for now. Chin added that one possible way to extend the IPv6 service to the NUSnet is by using an IPv6 tunnel broker |

IPv6 service |
|
| The meeting noted the NUS plan to deploy IPv6 services and discussed about the various IPv6 service that can be deployed and tested, including some interops service and off-the-shelf translator. |

Manpower |
|
| Roland highlighted the existing NUS staff who are involved in this project. A/P Ananda suggested he would invite Yeo Ann Kian in IPv6 project team. Dr Winston suggested to involve one existing IT staff from ICR in this project. He will update when he has obtained the confirmation within ICR. |

|
| The meeting noted that an IPv6 mailing list has been set up. It is at v6wg@singaren.net.sg. The IPv6 project team will follow up to work on the detail project plan and circulate it to the mailing list. |
