SingAREN provides international network connectivity to our global R&E Network partners such as Internet2, TEIN2 and APAN to facilitate research and development projects, serving the local research and education community.
Two classes of services are available under SingAREN Global REN access:

location to SingAREN and SingAREN reserves the right to revise and adjust

Riding on the POS (Packet Over Sonet) Circuit with the highest level
priority, this service is recommended for users who need to run real-time,
multimedia applications such as video conferencing over SingAREN. The
Low Latency Queueing method is used to guarantee the bandwidth.

Recommended for users who require a fixed amount of bandwidth reserved
for their projects. Weight Fair Queue is being used to ensure the allocation
of the bandwidth.

Special SingAREN Service Subscription rates are being offered to SingAREN Institutional Members.

The SingAREN IP infrastructure is based on Cisco routers and FE/GE
switches. Users can connect to the SingAREN network via FE/GE connection.
Users will need to find a service provider to provide an FE/GE connection
from their router to SingAREN.

Local circuit
Users will be responsible for ordering the FE/GE connection and bear all set-up costs and monthly recurring costs of this circuit.
International link
Users need to subscribe to SingAREN service to access SingAREN's international partners network. More information can be found at
Service
Plans.
Users need to engage their service providers whenever necessary to resolve any issue pertaining to the local circuit connected to SingAREN network. SingAREN will provide advice and assistance in the configuration where necessary. Users will need to use BGP-4 on their routers to handle routing. SingAREN NOC operators will work with users in the configuration of the router.

To subscribe to the service, please complete the SingAREN

If your organisation is not a SingAREN Institutional Member and would like to subscribe to SingAREN services, we request that you register as a member.
Please allow 14 working days from the date of receipt of your application
to process your subscription request. We will notify you via e-mail or telephone
as soon as your application has been approved and your subscribed service
is activated.

We understand that SingAREN users may need to change or upgrade their
service plan in the course of the usage. For example, changing the addresses,
service type and bandwidth requirements or the address.
To do so, please complete the SingAREN
Service Amendment Form [

to process the changes. We will notify you via email or telephone
as soon as your request is approved and effected.
Note: Please note that a change in
service may incur a change in the monthly subscription fee.
If, for any reason(s), you wish to terminate your subscribed service,
please complete the SingAREN Service

Word Format] and email to admin@singaren.net.sg. Please note that one month advance notice is required for service termination
SingAREN will provide at least 99.9% network availability* over a calendar
month on its international link.
* Network availability is defined as the measure of the degree to
which network is operable and not in a state of failure or outage at
any point of time. It measures the total downtime of the network over
a month. All scheduled downtime for the purposes of maintenance and
upgrading of the network system will be excluded from the calculation
while all unscheduled downtime will be included.
