About Us

SingAREN (Singapore Advanced Research and Education Network) is Singapore’s national research and education network.
It is the sole provider of local and international networks dedicated to serving the research and education community in Singapore.

Objectives

SingAREN is a non-profit society that serves the user community with these key objectives:

  • Advocate and champion advanced network applications and technology in Singapore.
  • Be the platform of collective representation of the community of research and education networks (RENs) in Singapore.
  • Facilitate cost-competitive adoption of advanced Internet technologies for the research and education community in Singapore.

Our Community

SingAREN’s members consist of the Institutions of Higher Learning, Research Organizations, Government and network industry players.

Our Network & Services

SingAREN Open Exchange (SOE) interconnects Singapore’s research and education community to the international Research and Education Networks including Asia, Australia, Europe, Middle East and the U.S., ranging from bandwidths between 1 Gbps to 100 Gbps.

Besides advanced internet connectivity, SingAREN offers value-added services: eduroam, Singapore Access Federation (SGAF) and Database Mirroring.

SingAREN facilitates high-speed transfers of large datasets across international boundaries for scientific research, and enables advanced network technology demonstrations through its resilient international links and high-speed fiber network.

Why choose

SingAREN?

SingAREN’s differentiating factor from the commodity network providers is its bilateral peering arrangements with international research and education networks (RENs). Through SingAREN Open Exchange (SOE), interconnections with RENs are established in other countries at a quality of service not generally possible nor available with commodity internet.
