In the Field blog: Singapore and Sapporo scenic sites come to life via R&E network link
31 July 2018 – In conjunction with the Sapporo Snow Festival 2018, the National Institute of Information and Communications Technology (NICT), Japan, in collaboration with SingAREN and Nanyang Technological University (NTU), successfully conducted a 8K uncompressed video streaming experiment on 6 Feb 2018 via JGN – a high speed Wide Area Testbed Network managed by NICT, Japan. The network experimentinvolved the 100 Gbps circuit connecting Singapore to Japan via Hong Kong, and the Asia Pacific Ring (APR) which connects across the Pacific between Asia and North America.
