SingAREN’s Participation in TNC24 Conference Rennes, France: 10 – 14 June 2024
26 Jun 2024 – TNC24 conference took place in Rennes, France from 10–14 June 2024 and was hosted by RENATER, the National Research and Education Network of France. The global network meeting had over 800 participants from NRENs worldwide. A/Prof Francis Lee and Simon Green were representatives from SingAREN for this event.

Mr Simon Green, Network and Service Manager, gave a lightning talk presentation on the Global Research and Education Network Backbone on 12 June 2024. This included examples of the global network systems and how they provided diverse and resilient connectivity enabling day to-day research collaborations.

A/Prof Francis Lee, President, participated in a Podcast with Nokia focusing on APAN and discussed collaboration between APAN, TEIN*CC, and Nokia. Apart from attending workshops and lightning talks, A/Prof Lee also conducted separate technical discussions with various key representatives from NRENs and organisations to address potential collaborations with strategic partners, and what SingAREN could offer to enhance our partners’ services.

A/Prof Lee summed up his TNC24 experience: “The workshops were excellent and the main conference talks were also very enlightening.”
Overall, TNC24 has been a rewarding experience for SingAREN where our participants gained precious learnings and reinforced our working relationships with new and old partners within the same community.
