Cybersecurity Workshop on Building Collective Cyber Defence For Research & Education – 1 Sep 2022

Over 30 participative attendees took part in this most engaging in-person Cybersecurity workshop during which IronNet introduced a new brand perspective to strengthen cyber defence through collaboration. By covering how organisations can work differently in a collaborative environment to detect and defend more quickly through safe and anonymous data sharing for the benefit of all participating organisations, IronNet shared how Artificial Intelligence and behavioural analytics can detect unknown threats, beyond commodity signature-based approaches.

SingAREN EXCO member, Mr. Christopher Lek, led a highly engaging panel discussion with Mr. Scott Lee, Head of Cybersecurity at STATS Ltd, who shared the end-user perspectives of deploying IronNet’s cybersecurity solution. This paved the way for an interactive discussion session with the attendees. Many attendees found the topics discussed relevant for their organisations and expressed their positive feedback about this workshop.

“Understanding of IronNet from the vendor itself and also a use case from their customer gave me a fair assessment of the product in a way.”, said Thomas Chia, Nanyang Polytechnic.

“The sharing session is impressive which related to the end user.”, enthused Ngiap Khin Tim, A*STAR Computational Resource Centre.

“This workshop has given me an awareness of the latest technology trends and solutions, especially in the domain of cybersecurity.”, shared Kenneth Acar Garcia, A*STAR Computational Resource Centre.

“I learnt and understood that IronNet has a platform that links other Security analysts together to mitigate and combine the knowledge from vast organisations. That is in the context of threats.”, commented Ravikkumar Vignesh Kumar, A*STAR IT*SS.

We greatly appreciate the active participation from all the attendees at this well-received workshop and would like to extend our appreciation towards IronNet and Tindo for sponsoring this Cybersecurity workshop as well as A*STAR Computational Resource Centre for the use of the event venue.
