Singapore’s Newest National Supercomputer on Track to Meet Future Smart Nation and Research Needs

6 Jun 2021 – The National Supercomputing Centre (NSCC) Singapore has awarded the $40M tender for the development of the next generation national supercomputer system plus upgrades to the national storage and research network infrastructure to Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE), which will build it using the HPE Cray EX supercomputer product line. Eight times more powerful than current supercomputer, this new system is expected to provide up to 10 Petaflops (10 PFLOPS) of computing capacity and will be integrated with the expanded network infrastructure with multiple 100Gbps links for upgraded connectivity between users and the supercomputing resources using the SingAREN-Lightwave Internet Exchange (SLIX) from the Singapore Advanced Research and Education Network (SingAREN).
