SingAREN’s Participation at APAN57 Meeting, Bangkok, Thailand, 29 Jan – 2 Feb 2024
SingAREN’s representatives participated in the APAN57 Meeting, Bangkok, Thailand on 29 Jan – 2 Feb 2024. It was great to meet SingAREN’s international partners and to share insights on networking technologies.
A/Prof. Francis Lee, President, organised the Network Engineering Workshop, consisting of updates from international representatives on 400G networks, Open Exchanges and updates from various National Research and Education Networks (NRENs).
A/Prof. Francis Lee also chaired the Asia-Pacific Europe Ring (AER) Steering Group Meeting. During the meeting, Simon Peter Green, Network and Service Manager, and Xiong Ying, Technical Specialist presented on AER resilience and remote robot surgery demonstration respectively.
Jon Lau, Vice-President, made a presentation remotely on the topic: “Cybersecurity for HPC Environments.” The presentation was well received.
Tan Geok Lian, Secretary, presented on the updates of SingAREN Open Exchange and SingAREN’s development of SingAREN Lightwave Internet Exchange (SLIX) at the Network Engineering Workshop.
